Pokémon GO’s Great League Format

Pokémon GO events use the Great League format for competitive play. Only Pokémon 1,500 CP and under are legal for battle. This makes it easier to power up your Pokémon without breaking the Stardust bank.

Battle Team Setup

At official Pokémon GO events, Trainers form a team of six Pokémon but only bring three into battle. These six Pokémon must be assigned unique in-game tags before competition.

Prohibited Pokémon

Ditto, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, Shedinja, and certain Pokémon that know specific Tooltip: The primary action a Pokémon can take during a battle. Moves can be used to deal damage, impart status conditions, etc. are prohibited from competitive play.
